After losing a beloved uncle, Venezuelan filmmaker Marianne Amelinckx decides that the only path to collective healing is to unravel the tapestry of hidden truths that binds her family together.
Based on a short film of the same name that premiered in Outfest LA 2023 and got an Honor Mention at the Hornitos Tequila First Shot Award.
This project was a winner of the Tribeca and Canva Creative Program kickstart award.
La Barca de la Ilusión

Maya, Buzz, and the kids live a rural life in a small beach town in Mexico, where Buzz is trying to kick heroin out of his life. Their paradise is disrupted when Victor, Buzz’s former drug dealer, enters the picture, forcing Maya to take action on the matter.
This story is an adaptation by author Lucia Berlin, a New York Times best-selling author whose first book “Manual for cleaning women” was one of the Ten Best Books of 2015.

It’s the year 2017, and thousands of Venezuelans are leaving their country. LUISA (30) gets to the Caracas International Airport thinking she has a few hours to kill before her flight when is surprised by MONICA, her ex, who moved away three years ago, ending their relationship abruptly and leaving Luisa completely heartbroken.
The hours pass by while Luisa and Monica reflect on their past and get a chance to do something they didn’t before: say goodbye.
